Microsoft to buy Yahoo!

On Friday, the New York Post announced that Microsoft approached Yahoo! to discuss about a friendly takeover in order to compete with his biggest competitor: Google.
If the takeover become a reality, it would be one of the biggest takeover in the world but Yahoo! seems not to be interested and the discussion is now over.

Instant messaging added to Xbox

Mircrosoft announced that they will integrate instant messaging functionality to Xbox. User will be able to chat with 6 people simultaneously by plugging a USB keyboard into the Xbox. By this way, Microsoft wants to link 260 million Live Messenger users with 6 million Xbox Live users.
